I started playin at age 5 at Murphy Candler Park    What positions did you play growing up? Pitcher / Catcher / 3rd    What lead you to your primary position? I knew that it was easier to make my high school team if I was a good catcher. I also knew that College and Pro scouts are always on the lookout for big catchers with good arms.   Where did you play summer baseball in high school? I played on a local team that an old coach had put together we played tournaments in the southeast.     What was your favorite amateur memory? Probably going to the college World series in 2006 with Georgia.   Who were the top schools recruiting you to play in college? Honestly I didn’t have many. I went to a pitcher/catcher camp at UGA threw a 1.85 down to second base  and got offered a scholarship about a week later.    What made you pick your school? I have always wanted to play at UGA. For as long as I could remember it was the only scholl I ever  wanted to play at. It was in state and I have been a bulldog fan     Where did you play summer ball in college? 2004 – Vermont Mountaineers – New England Collegiate Baseball League  2005 – St. Petersburg General (Virginia) Coastal Plains League 2006 – Atlanta Astros – Sun Belt League (Atlanta, Ga)    What was your favorite collegiate memory? Playing with my teammates. Getting the chance to suit up and play every day with 25 of my closest  friends was something I’ll never forget.We had such a great group of guys. We did everything together.  Played cards/ video games/ eat/ train/ study. I was around these guys all day every day.  Most of us are still close friends to this day. Who drafted you?  Kansas City Royals in the 18th round pick 576.  What was your favorite professional memory? In 2008 we won the Midwest League Championship for Class Low A. I was on a team with some really  great players who are currently in the Big Leagues.  Why did you choose to pursue baseball instruction as a career? I think that we are all called on to Serve. By that I mean find something that you enjoy doing that others can benefit from.  I love the game of baseball. It is one of the few things I have a passion for and know inside and out.  I want to teach guys the right way to play the game and howto be successful.  Baseball has opened a lot of doors for me and I know it can do the same for others    […]
