Where did you grow up / born?
Born in Atlanta and raised in Kennesaw, GA
At what age did you start playing baseball?
I started playing at the age of 4
What positions did you play growing up?
Shortstop, Firstbase, and Centerfield
What lead you to your primary position?
I was always a great runner with great athleticism. Getting the opportunity to play centerfield allowed me to take advantage of my natural abilities.
Where did you play summer baseball in high school?
East Cobb
What is your favorite amateur memory?
Winning AAU National Title with the East Cobb Astros and Coach Guerry Baldwin.
Who were the top schools recruiting you to play in college?
UNC, Tennessee, Georgia Tech, and UGA
What made you pick your school?
The University of Georgia is a great school with an amazing college atmosphere. Year in and year out the Bulldogs contend for not only an SEC Championship but a National Championship and having the opportunity to step foot on campus as a freshman to compete for playing time and to contribute on a run to Omaha made Athens an easy choice for me.
Where did you play summer ball in college?
I was selected to play in the prestigious Cape Cod Collegiate Summer League ( The Cape ) for the Harwich Mariners
What is your favorite collegiate memory?
As a true Freshman I hit the game winning walk-off homerun versus Georgia Tech in a Super Regional that propelled us Omaha. Later in my career while in Omaha competing for a National Championship I hit a homerun off of eventual National Champion the Oregon State Beavers.
Who drafted you?
The Chicago Cubs drafted me in the 13th round of the 2007 MLB Draft.
What is your favorite professional memory?
My first professional hit which was a three-run homerun while playing for the Boise Hawks in the Northwest League
Why did you choose to pursue baseball instruction as a career?
I have been very blessed to play baseball at an elite level for many years with a lot of great collegiate and professional players. I feel that the knowledge and experience I have picked up along the way will be of great benefit to today’s little leaguers as we here at GBA aim to help them excel both on and off the field.
